Let’s keep your bike on the road, running the way it was intended.
MK Cycling’s comprehensive service has been carefully designed over a number of years to ensure it gets your bike working like a new machine every time. The methods used ensure no element is left unchecked, and every part is given the attention needed to keep it running as intended. A comprehensive service leaves your bike running safely, efficiently, and with full functionality. The comprehensive service is designed to be suited to any type of bike, at any age, and any style of riding.Stage 1 – Head to toe inspection:
Every single element on the bike is checked to ensure it is working, safe, and serviceable. If not, the mechanic will then assess whether the item can be adjusted, repaired, or replaced. If the bike needs new parts or extra work, you’ll be alerted right away so we can discuss a plan of action with you and let you know of any extras needed.Stage 2 – Strip down & Replace:
The bike’s inner and outer cables are completely stripped out and replaced with new ones. We cut the cables to size with new ferrules and dosage of our secret lubricant. The lubricant, besides reducing friction in the cables, adds wear protection to the cables, fights rust, and forces water out. It also has a self-cleaning formula to add life to the cables. Any components that are being replaced are also removed and the new ones installed ready for the next stage. If you have hydraulic brakes, The mechanic will refresh the fluid and bleed the brakes too.Stage 3 – Final assembly and Tuning:
The gears, brakes, bearings, and any components being installed are completed in their installation before a fine-tuning. The tuning also incorporates bedding in cables and parts to ensure they don’t come out of tuning when you get on the bike for the first few miles. We’ll also ensure the brakes are bedded in and sufficiently biting.Stage 4 – The test run:
This is the most important step. No bike is signed off as completed until it passes the rigorous safety and function checks conducted on the test run. The bike is subjected to tests that ensure it is capable of handling the most demanding of riding styles. Brakes, gears, bearings, and general build quality are subjected to repeat tests to the extremes of what the bike should be able to perform to. The bike must pass a set sequence of tests and test measurements before it can be passed as ready to go. This means you know your bike is 100% safe and ready to handle the road.- Book in more than one bike in the same booking and we’ll give you £10 off for each bike after the first.
