Our availability is available to check online 24/7 via the booking system. To check availability, click on the blue “Book Online” button at the very top of any page and select the service you are interested in. The system will then show you a view of all of the available appointments times which you can book online.
The booking system is a live system, so if someone makes a cancellation, the booking slot will show as available, and if someone books an appointment the system will remove that time slot when others book.
In short, MK cycling can supply almost any component you need. We hold a stock on the mobile workshop van of the most common and standard spares and components ready for fitting on your bike right away if needed.
If we don’t have the part on the van, we have several suppliers able to supply those parts on a next working day basis. (many of which are the UK official distributors for brands such as Shimano, Sram, Campagnolo, Sturmey-Archer, etc).
Yes.
If you know the right parts that you need for the repair and want to supply them yourself then you are most welcome to do so. There are a couple of things to be aware of however:
The parts you supply are not covered by our guarantee and we cannot honor the manufacturer’s warranty for your supplied parts.
If the parts you supply are found to be the wrong fitting and result in needing to re-book the repair, you will be charged for each booking as per the minimum workshop charge.
The minimum workshop charge (currently £49) is there to ensure that providing the service remains viable. There are some repairs that if we didn’t have a minimum charge, the business would make losses which would eventually lead to Cycle Maintenance UK not being a viable business and not being able to provide services.
The minimum charge is based on the average time spent on repairs, combined with the costs that go into providing every booking regardless of the repair type (fuel, time, insurance, tool usage, consumable materials used, etc). We review the minimum workshop charge annually and ensure it is in line with the UK inflation rate.
We have two travel zones; Green and Red, which are outlined on the map below.
Addresses within the Green zone don’t pay any travel surcharge
Addresses in the Red zone are subject to a travel surcharge on top of the booking and are charged at £0.50 per return mile, minus £5, from postcode ME7 5.
- If you are in Essex or north of the River Thames, Dart charge will be added to the surcharge (currently £6)
- If you live within a Congestion charge zone within London, the charge will be added to the surcharge
For example, if your address is 40 miles from the ME7 5 postcode, we would calculate the surcharge to be as follows: £0.50 x 40 = £20. Minus £5, = £15 surcharge.
Calculate your travel surcharge here by entering your postcode into our calculation tool (This only applies if you are within the Red Zone coverage area)
We do not currently cover any areas outside of the Red zone
